Since 1996 Maya Gonzalez has been offering presentations, lectures, and workshops around the country. Whether it be delving into the ins and outs of illustrating children's books to a group of third graders, or lecturing to educators about the power of reflection in empowering our children, Maya has enjoyed every minute of it. She says:
"I wish I could play with everyone. Something very fun and alchemical happens when I get to work and play with people in person! It’s like the air is electric."
And after every presentation, lecture or workshop, she always walks away inspired by everyone’s expression and courage and is even more committed to the wonderful teacher that is creativity.
Praise for Maya:
"I just wanted to say thank you again for your wonderfully inspiring and interactive presentations on Thursday. I have heard very positive things from students, teachers and parents. Apparently, one 1st grade student went home and told her parents she was going to be an author and illustrator when she grows up!" - Librarian
"I really loved your art work, and what you said about finding yourself in art, I can relate because I find myself in art too. I also love your polka dot theory! Because, art is really different for everyone and you really expressed that well." - High School Student
"Thank you for an inspiring talk on Saturday at the conference. What a gift to hear you speak and learn more about your philosophy! I loved your art 'rules' and perspective on creative education." - College Professor
