Empowering Ourselves in Our Lives
What does it mean to Claim Face, to live the philosophy, to do the practice? Over the next months we will be organizing workshop series and conference presentations to answer just that question. Below is a list of what we have in the works at the moment with more to add as we continue to brainstorm and expand the Claiming Face practice to other venues:

Women Claiming Face
With the Claiming Face Educator's Guide, Maya was able to assemble and articulate much of what she has been doing with children since 1996. Finally materializing this work into a book has naturally allowed space for more to come forward which includes working with women. The essence behind the curriculum that she shares with children is what has served her in her own life since she, herself, was a child. It has assisted her in navigating challenging life situations, healing from illness, growing into and celebrating her powerful Chicana woman-ness, and more. As she has shared with children, she now also turns toward women in sharing the lessons of Claiming Face in enhancing self-esteem, body image, the ability to trust self and more.
Bay Area Workshop Series
