About Our Blog
Welcome!
We’ve created this blog to provide a venue to engage with educators, parents, administrators and anyone else interested in our work and what we have to offer. We not only want to share insights, ideas, and resources with our visitors but also be able to receive feedback and engage in thoughtful conversations.
On our blog we explore why developing a relationship with the process of creativity is so important not only for ourselves but for our children. How it can empower us, enable us to know ourselves more deeply, and teach us compassion and understanding for others. Creativity is not simply about drawing a chair to look like a chair but a much deeper process – a process of being present with ourselves. And, in that stillness of the moment, we can find the resources and reflection to know ourselves more deeply.
On our blog we also discuss the importance of reflection and seeing ourselves in the world around us. How the lack of appropriate reflection, especially for children, can silently take its toll emotionally, spiritually and physically. And what we can do as educators, parents, or anyone else working with children to empower them to create their own reflection and to take pride in expressing their true selves in the world.
And, to spice it up even more, we also thought this would be a great way for people to get to know us and get a glimpse into our lives. View our introduction post if you want to know more about the people behind the press.
Our Mission
Reflection Press empowers people to fully claim themselves and their inherent creative force. By providing experiences and materials that use creativity, presence, and reflection as tools to find, explore, and know self, we strengthen ourselves as a people. In this strength, we come to know that we all belong here and now and that we all possess the capacity to create a world based on equality in which we are free to express and expand into our truest selves.
What We Offer
Reflection Press provides workshops, presentations, lectures, and materials that engage the creative force. We also work to provide imagery, written and visual, that begins to reflect people who are often over-looked in the current media. Through books, posters, prints, and online resources, we strive to reach and empower as many people as possible. For when we feel reflected in our world, we sense that we belong and that this is our world to love and create and change.
