El Día de Los Libros/El Día de Los Niños
April is a busy and exciting month this year! Maya will be participating in many events for El Día de los Libros/El Día de los Niños!
All events are FREE and open to the public and most will have lots of festivities, refreshments, free books, art activities and more. So come celebrate the importance of reading at an event near you. Look forward to seeing you there!

Arthur F. Turner Community Library, West Sacramento, CA
Dance performances by Folklórico Latino de Woodland, bilingual stories, crafts for kids, pinata raffle and presentations by Maya Gonzalez and Francisco Alarcón. Plus free books for kids! This FREE event is sponsored by: Yolo County, First 5, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the West Sacramento Friends of the Library. More information on the Library’s events page.

JFK Library, Vallejo, CA in the Joseph Room
Enjoy a show by Puppet Art Theater and refreshments. Children get a free book! Plus, Maya will present an art workshop for children.
11:00am: Each child can pick out one free book. Sign-up for library cards and learn about programs for families.
11:30am: Puppet Art Theater presents “Three Billy Goats Gruff” and “The Tortoise and the Hare.” Puppet show to be followed by refreshments.
1:00pm: Award-winning author and illustrator Maya Christina Gonzalez offers a very special presentation, book signing, and art workshop for children.
